Mandela was imprisoned for lead a peaceful battle against apartheid. In 1994, he was elected the first black president of South Africa. During his tenure. He liberated the economy of South Africa. Mandela retired from active politics after a single term. Nelson Mandela was a transformational leader; he lifted the fog and enabled people to see what they could be.
