The Aboriginal-owned business Manitobah Mukluks has used Adwords to tell their story, while also positively impacting their community. Josh Fine, Chief Brand Officer of the corporation, told Google “Most consumers don’t know what a Mukluk is… We had to find a way to get in front of people who are looking for warm winter boots, or authentic boots, or comfortable slippers.”

Manitobah Mukluks works with artists who are still making Muklluks, and the company gives 100% of the profits for the art to the artists. That’s a significant story to tell, and one that Adwords facilitates to the masses.

“We sought out Adwords so we could find those consumers, and so they could find us,” Fine went on. “It democratizes commerce. It allows us the same level of exposure as billion-dollar competitors.”

LSTN Leverages YouTube

For every headset sold, LSTN provides a hearing aid to someone in need, and leveraging YouTube’s PPC advertising helps them accomplish this.

“YouTube was the inspiration for our business, and it was also the way that we are grow our business,” said founder Bridget Hilton. “It’s helped us realize exponential growth over the last year and a half.”

The company’s director of positivity says YouTube has given the firm a way to reach the masses.

“It used to be that you had to be a professional videography to tell a story,” he explained. “But now you can make a video ad in so many different ways. All it really has to be is real.”

He says that if a person is authentic and they have a real story, it will resonate with people.

Certainly, Adwords and YouTube aren’t the only PPC advertising platforms that can help launch your business to the masses. Other options include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and various othes. It’s important to understand your target market, and know where they spend their time and money.
